Oh Lofty One of the Soft Voice!

What a pity you did not contact me sooner! If I had only known that Whizzpiffle was coming to Earth disguised as a mouse, I would have rescued her without any thought for my own safety.

Let me start at the beginning. It was Friday – Friday the 13th. The luckiest day in the year on Plonk. Not so much here. Anyway, I had just come from school when I heard the Father screaming in the kitchen. I ran in to see what terrible danger had befallen him.

‘Mouse!’ he screamed as soon as he saw me. ‘Get your mother!’

I went to fetch the Mother person. She went quite pale when she heard about the mouse and suggested I get the cat. (I had no idea that humans are terrified of so small an animal. But then being a very brave warrior myself I do not understand fear.)

When I got back to the kitchen, the Father was quite calm, drinking tea. Mr Sooty was on his lap licking his lips and looking quite satisfied. I am so sorry oh Many-Headed and Hatted One. I fear that the lovely Whizzpiffle is no longer with us. May she rest in peace. My heart is filled with sadness.
